Brian Sallee


Brian Sallee has been a police officer for 32 years and has over 24 years working narcotics units. He is a detective with the Albuquerque Police Department and is assigned to the Meth Unit. He is also crossed commissioned with the New Mexico Board of Pharmacy. Brian has as been a certified law enforcement instructor since 1996 and has trained tens of thousands of police officers from all 50 states and several foreign countries. Brian has a bachelor's degree in Police Science and a master's degree in Criminal Justice, both from New Mexico State University.

Brian was instrumental in creating and implementing the New Mexico Methamphetamine Special Information System, which electronically tracks the sales of pseudoephedrine. He designed and assisted implementation of the methamphetamine lab program for the Albuquerque Police Department and has consulted with other police agencies on their policies and narcotic units. Brian was an advisor on two training programs on Methamphetamine Awareness for the New Mexico State Attorney General's Office.

Brian has been qualified as an expert witness in New Mexico State District Court and Federal Court. He testifies as an expert in both criminal and civil trials. He has also consulted on hundreds of narcotics cases. Brian is co-author of two books: Narcotics Investigation: Working and Surviving and The Methamphetamine Handbook: What You Need to Know.
