Dr. Sam Slick

Dr. Sam Slick is President and CEO of Command Spanish, Inc., the country's leading provider of Spanish language training for law enforcement and related fields in criminal justice. He is the former Chairman of the Department of Foreign Languages at the University of Southern Mississippi. Dr. Slick holds a B.A. and M.A. in Spanish from Illinois State University, a Ph.D. in Spanish and Portuguese from the University of Iowa, and diplomas from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City, and from the University of Madrid, Spain. Dr. Slick is certified as a police instructor in Mississippi, Texas and Georgia. As a specialist in language acquisition, Dr. Slick has become one of the country's foremost trainers in Spanish for law enforcement and public safety personnel. He has also written and lectured widely on the topic.

Dr. Slick has taught survival Spanish at dozens of major police academies, correctional facilities, and probation agencies throughout the United States. In addition, he has provided Spanish language training for the DEA, ICE, U.S. Customs, numerous HIDTAs and Task Forces, the Bureau of Prisons, ten state correctional systems, and the Federal Judiciary Training Center (probation) in Washington D.C.
